Kerala High Court comes to the rescue of five mariners stranded on abandoned ship off Kochi coast since April 2020

The continued ‘detention’ aboard the vessel is a result of a provision in maritime law which requires required seamen to be ‘signed off’ and discharged before they can leave a ship once their contract ends.
