Karnataka HC issues notice in plea seeking benefit of education loan moratorium scheme for all students in state amid COVID-19

In 2009, the Government of India had come up with Central Sector Interest Subsidy Scheme (CSIS) to ensure that no person is denied the opportunity of pursuing higher education because of insufficiency of funds.

The Karnataka High Court recently issued notice in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking extension of the moratorium scheme on education loans to all categories of students in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notice has been issued to the Centre, the state government and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
