In yet another instance of a High Court sitting beyond normal courts hours, Justice Jasmeet Singh of the Delhi High Court sat past 11 pm on Monday to complete the hearing of matters listed before him. .The Delhi High Court is currently on summer break and Justice Singh is part of the vacation bench. He started the day sitting on a Division Bench with Justice Anup Bhambhani at 10:30 AM in the morning which rose at 3 pm.Following this, Justice Singh began attending to the single bench matters from around 3 pm in the afternoon which continued past 11 pm without a break. This is not the first time that High Court judges have heard cases late into the night. Justices SJ Kathawalla and SP Tavade of the Bombay High Court recently sat for over 12 hours from 10.45 am to 11.15 pm to hear cases, many of which required urgent intervention.
