The Special CBI Court at Rouse Avenue today granted bail to six accused bureaucrats who were part of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board in the INX Media case. (CBI vs INX Media).The order was passed by Special CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar..The Court has extended bail to the accused persons on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh..The Court has also directed them to not tamper with the evidence or leave the country without the Court's permission..The six accused are former Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) Board members Sindhushree Khullar, Pradeep Kumar Bagga, Prabodh Saxena, Ajeet Kumar, Rabindra Prasad and Anup K Pujari..The six accused bureaucrats had moved for bail in the case after they appeared before the CBI Court pursuant to the summons issued to them..The CBI Court had then granted interim bail to them..In its order confirming the interim bail granted to the bureaucrats, the Court CBI has observed, ."The CBI has not been able to show that the accused/applicants are flight risk nor it has been able to show any reasonable ground for having any apprehension that they will tamper with the evidence or influence the witnesses.. Moreover, other co-accused are already on bail in this case. Therefore, I do not see any justified ground to decline bail to accused/applicants."CBI Court.Apart from these six, other accused, former Union Minister P Chidambaram, his son Karti Chidambaram and CA S Bhaskararaman are already on bail in the INX Media case filed by the CBI..The INX Media case pertains to the alleged irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance to INX Media at the time when P Chidambaram was the Finance Minister.
