Five additional judges of Madras High Court made permanent

The Supreme Court Collegium on September 10 recommended that five additional judges of the Madras High Court be made permanent judges.

The Central Government on Friday notified the appointment of five additional judges of the Madras High Court as permanent judges.

The additional judges made permanent are Justices LC Victoria Gowri, PB Balaji, KK Ramakrishnan, Ramachandran Kalaimathi, and KG Thilakavadi.

The Collegium of the Madras High Court unanimously recommended the names of the additional judges for appointment as permanent Judges of the High Court on April 29, 2024.

The Chief Minister and the Governor of Tamil Nadu had both concurred with this recommendation.

Accordingly, on September 10 this year, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended that the five additional judges of the Madras High Court be made permanent judges.
