Detailed interrogation of Disha Ravi is required to get information with respect to pro-Khalistan group Poetic Justice Foundation and their active members, Delhi Police told a Delhi Court yesterday while seeking the custody of the 21-year-old environmental activist from Bangalore (State vs Disha A Ravi).
The Delhi Police also said that the custody of Ravi was necessary on the ground that efforts are to be made to recover a deleted WhatsApp Group which has "vital information".
Other devices and mobile phones used in relation to the offence are also to be recovered at her instance, the Police added.
Dev Saroha, Duty Magistrate, Patiala House Court ordered,
"In view of the facts and circumstances, police custody of 5 days is granted. Be produced on 19.02.2021."
Legal aid counsel Pramod Singh appeared for Ravi before the Court.
Ravi was apprehended by the Delhi Police on the night of February 13, alleging that she had made edits to a Google document which was shared as a “toolkit” related to farmers protests.
The toolkit has been the basis for the case registered by Special Cell of Delhi Police after Swedish climate activist, Greta Thunberg had tweeted the same expressing support for Farmers Protests.
The Delhi Police had lodged an FIR on February 4 against unnamed persons in relation the toolkit.
