Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi High Court today held its first e-Farewell Reference to bid adieu to Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal. .Justice Sehgal's resignation from the office of Judge, Delhi High Court was notified by the Central Government earlier this month. .Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal to join Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission as its President.Justice Sehgal will soon join the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission as its President..Although the High Court has been holding court proceedings in urgent matters through video conferencing since the lockdown, this was the first time that the CISCO WebEx platform was used for holding a virtual Farewell Reference. .Delhi High Court 2.0: The Virtual Way .During her address, Justice Sehgal recollected her experience working on the administrative side of the High Court as well as on its judicial side and said, ."I would also like to thank all my brother and sister judges for making my tenure memorable and worthwhile. I will be carrying fond memories shared with each one of you. I must also thank each member of the bar without whose assistance, it would have been difficult to discharge and perform my duties as a Judge.. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every officer and member of the High Court staff, at each level, for their continuous support during my tenure as the Registrar General and also after my elevation.".She added, .I hope during this indelible journey, I have not hurt anyone, and if I have, the same would have been purely unintentional. . I also hope that we overcome these difficult times of covid and resume normal life at the earliest. She was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court on December 15, 2014, and became a Permanent Judge on June 2, 2016. .Justice Sehgal was the topper of her batch of 1984 in Delhi Judicial Services and joined the services in July 1985.
