[BREAKING] Delhi High Court grants anticipatory bail to TV anchor Varun Hiremath in rape case

The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to TV anchor Varun Hiremath in connection with a rape case against him. (Varun Hiremath vs State).The order was pronounced by Justice Mukta Gupta who said that the order shall not be uploaded online and the parties would be given a dasti copy. .Arguments in the bail plea were held in-camera. .While seeking report from Delhi Police, the Court had last month granted interim protection from arrest to Hiremath subject to him joining the investigation. .Hiremath's anticipatory bail application was rejected by Additional Sessions Judge at the Fast Track Courts in Patiala House Court bail earlier this year. .Before the trial court, Hiremath had claimed that the prosecutrix came from Pune to Delhi to meet him and voluntarily checked into a hotel room with him.
