The existing system of hearings through video-conferencing mode in all benches of Delhi High Court and Delhi district courts will continue till August 13, 2021, an official order issued on Thursday stated.

In continuation with its previous orders, Delhi High Court full-bench decided to continue taking up only urgent matters whereas all other pending routine and non-urgent matters listed before it between July 26, 2021 and August 13, 2021 “shall stand adjourned en bloc”.

The order, issued by Delhi High Court Registrar General Manoj Jain, also laid down the dates on which the adjourned matters would be next heard.

The full court has observed that the physical hearings in the high court could resume in restricted manner from August 16, 2021 on an experimental basis. However, the decision to have physical hearings will depend on the evaluation of the pandemic situation in the national capital.

Meanwhile, the districts courts in the national capital would continue hearings through video-conferencing mode from July 24, 2021. “The weblink of all the courts shall remain functional through the working hours,” said the order with respect to district courts.

On June 28, 2021, Delhi High Court had taken stock of the prevailing situation and ordered for continuing the hearings via video-conferencing mode till July 23.
