The Delhi High Court today directed the Delhi government to file an affidavit detailing the number of deaths that have taken place in city hospitals on account of the oxygen shortage amid the COVID-19 pandemic..A Division Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli sought complete details on such deaths from the Aam Aadmi Party government, including the time of deaths..The Court said,"We have to compensate these persons. It is the responsibility of the State.".The affidavit is called from the Delhi government within four days..The Court passed the direction while dealing with a batch of petitions concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in the national capital. One of the areas of concerns before the Court is the oxygen supply in hospitals and nursing homes. .The order was passed immediately after Dr S Bankata from Batra Hospital informed the Court that the hospital did not have oxygen supply for some time yesterday due to which 21 lives were lost. .Last week, even Jaipur Golden Hospital had said that it lost over 20 lives due to shortage of oxygen. .To meet the immediate SOS calls from hospitals who were before it, including Batra Hospital, the Court directed the Delhi government to divert the stock from the oxygen re-filler, who appeared to be indulging in black marketing. ."Refillers are having a field day and hospitals are being denied oxygen," the Court remarked as it ordered the Delhi government to take data on downstream supply by these refillers to curb any black marketing. ."If lives are lost, we'll haul up your officers today..", the Court told the Delhi government. .Read complete account of the hearing below:.[COVID-19] "Put your house in order:" Delhi High Court tells AAP government - LIVE UPDATES.Read the Orders:
