The Delhi High Court today disposed of petitions concerning the open book examination (OBE) for final year students at Delhi University as it stated that it did not wish to pursue the matter any further. (Prateek Sharma vs DU).A Division Bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad nonetheless laid down the deadlines within which Delhi University shall declare the results. .As per the Court's order, the result of all postgraduate courses shall be pronounced on or before October 31, 2020. The deadline for the BA Programme Course is November 6. .While accepting Delhi University's tentative deadline given for BA (Hons) course and BSc, the Court directed that the results for the same shall be announced within three days from October 24 and October 20, respectively. .The Court further ordered that the marksheets shall be uploaded online and the varsity would not impose any rider with respect to the physical verification of the same. .The Court today also discharged the contempt notice issued to Prof Vinay Gupta, Dean of Examination, Delhi University in connection with the case. .Subsequent to the High Court's nod, online OBE was held for final year DU students from August 10 onwards. The second phase of OBE was held in September in online as well as physical form. .Expedite OBE results in courses which concern students who have obtained admission in foreign universities: Delhi HC directs DU.Thereafter, the Court not only supervised the conduct of OBE and the progress of evaluation but also dealt with the issues being faced by students who are seeking admission in foreign universities. .Expedite evaluation so that OBE results can be declared by the first week of October 2020: Delhi HC tells DU.Last month, the Delhi High Court had directed DU to issue letters to the Principals of all colleges requesting that evaluation be expedited so that the results of open book examination can be declared by the first week of October 2020 for final year students.
