The Delhi High Court has disposed of the petition seeking the removal of Dr Mrinal Satish from the post of Chairman of the Delhi Judicial Academy..The public interest litigation was junked by a Division Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar in view of the acceptance of Dr Satish’s resignation from the post..The Court recorded,.Having heard learned counsel for both the sides and looking to the facts and circumstances of the case, it appears that Respondent No. 4 (Dr Satish) has already tendered his resignation, which has been accepted by Delhi High Court, and the said resignation has been made effective w.e.f. 25th December, 2019. Thus, in view of these facts & circumstances, we see no reason to entertain this writ petitionDelhi High Court.The appointment of Dr. Mrinal Satish, who is a Professor of Law at National Law University, Delhi on deputation, as Chairman of the Delhi Judicial Academy was notified in the Official Gazette on December 15, 2018.
