[Delhi Cantonment rape] Round the clock security provided to parents of victim: Delhi police to Delhi High Court

The Delhi Police has informed the Delhi High Court that round the clock security has been provided to parents of the Delhi Cantonment rape victim..A status report was also filed by the Delhi Police before the High Court in this regard.The status report stated that the investigation in the case is complete and the chargesheet has been filed. The four accused persons are arrested and are in judicial custody, it was informed.Further, the High Court was also told that a supplementary chargesheet has been filed along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) result and the matter is now listed for framing of the charge before the learned trial court.The High Court was hearing a plea by the parents of the deceased seeking protection for themselves and other witnesses in the case. During the hearing of the matter in August, the Court had directed the Delhi Police to file a status report regarding progress of investigation in the Delhi Cantonment case..The Court was informed on Monday that the witnesses in this matter Hardayal Singh and Nitin Bagga have not been provided escort security on the date of hearing in the court. However, if a complaint is made by them, appropriate actions will be taken by the Station House Officer, it was submitted..In light of the above, Justice Yogesh Khanna directed Delhi police to provide the witnesses of this matter with mobile number of a constable who can be contacted in case of any emergency, and disposed of the matter."Since the matter is now under trial, hence, nothing further is required to be done in the present matter. Nevertheless, the mobile numbers of the constable be provided to the witnesses namely Mr.Hardayal Singh and Mr.Nitin Bagga so in case of any emergency they may be contacted with.
