[COVID-19 crisis] Karnataka HC issues notice in plea seeking SOP, paid quarantine leave for workers in factories and other establishments

The Karnataka High Court recently issued notice in a plea seeking to direct the authorities to formulate a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for workers in factories and other establishments in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation.

This apart, the plea also prays to provide 14 days' paid quarantine leave to those workmen working in factories who are not covered under ESI coverage, in the event they contract COVID-19.

Notice was issued to the Department of Labour of the state government and the State Disaster Management Authority.
