Convicts can be permitted to argue appeals from prison through video conference: Madras High Court

Chief Justice SV Gangapurwala and Justice Bharatha Chakravarthy said that convicts wanting to argue on their own without engaging a lawyer, need not necessarily be physically produced in court.

The Madras High Court on Wednesday said that convicted prisoners who wish to make arguments on their own without engaging a lawyer in appeals filed by them, should be permitted to do so from prison via video conference.
