Contempt proceedings against Yatin Oza: GHCAA resolves to intervene, support Oza in proceedings before Supreme Court

By a unanimous resolution, the Gujarat High Court Advocates Association (GHCAA) has decided to support its President, Yatin Oza in proceedings in the Supreme Court against the contempt charges laid against him by the Gujarat High Court..The Association's Resolution informs that it intends to file an intervention application in the proceedings pending before the Supreme Court or any appeal Oza may file against the Gujarat High Court's finding of guilt against him for criminal contempt.."No brazen act can be permitted nor can his good deeds be a licence to attack Court", Gujarat HC while convicting Yatin Oza for contempt.To this end, the Vice President of the Association and the Secretary have been authorised by the General Body to engage an Advocate-on-Record to file an intervention application and a Senior Counsel to argue the case before the Supreme Court..GHCAA President Yatin Oza moves SC challenging Gujarat HC decision to withdraw his Senior Advocate Designation."... as there was unanimity and no objection from any member present and said resolution was passed unanimously and the Vice-President and Secretary have been authorized by the General Body to request Advocate on record and the Senior Counsel to file and appear in the Intervention Application before the Hon'ble Apex Court in the matter being Writ Petition (Civil) No. 734 of 2020 and also in appeal that may be filed against the Order passed in contempt proceedings being Criminal Misc.
