Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud Tuesday paid a surprise visit to new Supreme Court building to monitor the progress of the ongoing construction activities there..The CJI is currently heading the Constitution Bench which is hearing the challenge to abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution. After completing the hearing at 4 pm, the CJI attended his scheduled meetings with the Secretary General and registrars and also carried out other administrative work till 7:30 pm, sources in the know of things told Bar & Bench. He then visited Block D of Additional Building Complex (ABC) of Supreme Court, to inspect the progress of work in the public canteen.He also inspected the consultation rooms, cubicles at Block E and interacted with the lawyers present in the chambers.
