SC judgment decriminalising adultery raises concern among Army personnel about family "indulging in untoward activity:" Centre to Supreme Court

Central govt has claimed that in view of the judgment, "there will always be a concern in the minds of the army personnel who are operating far away from their families about the family indulging in untoward activity."

Indian Armed Forces do not discriminate between male and female personnel when it comes to dealing with acts of adultery, the Defence Ministry told the Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking exemption for Indian Army, Navy and Air Force from the Supreme Court's 2018 verdict decriminalising the offence of adultery.
