The Central government has cleared the names of nine advocates as judges of the Bombay High Court..This, after the Supreme Court Collegium had earlier recommended the appointment of ten lawyers as High Court judges. .The names which have been cleared are as follows:Kishore Chandrakant Sant,Valmiki Menezes SA,Kamal Rashmi Khata,Sharmila Uttamrao Deshmukh,Arun Ramnath Pednekar,Sandeep Vishnupant Marne,Gauri Vinod Godse,Rajesh Shantaram Patil,Arif Saleh Doctor.The Bombay High Court is currently operating at a strength of 54 judges (45 permanent and 9 additional judges) as against its sanctioned strength of 94 judges.The strength now will become of 63 judges.."Where are the judges:" Bar, Bench bemoan burgeoning vacancies in Bombay High Court.[Read notification]
