The Supreme Court will hear today, petitions relating to the upcoming Chartered Accountant (CA) exam 2021 scheduled to be held in July.
A Bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Aniruddha Bose will hear the case on the aspect of granting opt out for students who won't be able to appear for the exam on account of COVID-19.
The Institute for Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) had informed the Supreme Court that it is ready to extend Opt-out option to those candidates (whether under the old or new syllabus) who have recently suffered from COVID-19 or are yet to recover from the after effects of the same.
The Court had made it clear on Wednesday that it will not pass any directions to postpone the exam.
It had, however, agreed to pass directions on granting opt out and posted the case for considering the same.
