BREAKING: Supreme Court says no contempt proceedings against Rajdeep Sardesai, update on its website put up "inadvertently"

The case status on the Supreme Court website on Tuesday evening reflected the contempt plea against the journalist was registered as a suo motu criminal contempt petition.

The Supreme Court of India clarified that it has not initiated criminal contempt of court proceedings against journalist Rajdeep Sardesai and the Court's website which showed that it had taken suo motu cognizance of a contempt plea against Sardesai, was "an inadvertent mistake."
