A Delhi Court today dismissed plea by Nirbhaya convicts seeking a stay on their execution which is scheduled for March 3 at 6 am..The order was passed shortly after the Supreme Court rejected convict Pawan's curative petition..Order was pronounced by Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana..Convicts had sought to defer their execution on the grounds that Pawan's curative was pending before the Supreme Court and convict Akshay's "complete" mercy petition was also pending before President..It was also stated that the Centre's SLP against the Delhi High Court order passed on February 5 was also pending..Tihar Jail Authorities argued that the convicts were playing with the rule of law by adopting frivilous tactics..It was argued that there was no legal ground to stay the execution of death sentence..Jail Authorities also stated that they had no information regarding the new mercy plea by Akshay..After the order was pronounced, Adv AP Singh informed the Court about the pendency of Pawan's mercy plea and stated that he has filed another application to bring it on record. .The Court has agreed to hear the matter at 2 pm today.
