Bombay High Court seeks suggestions from prison authority for welfare of transgender and homosexual prisoners
The Court asked a competent police officer to inform the court on the next date if any amendments can be made to the Bombay Police Manual to ensure there is no discrimination against persons of a specific community.
The Bombay High Court today called for suggestions from the Inspector General (Prisons) of Maharashtra to ensure no discriminatory treatment is meted out to transgender persons and homosexual persons lodged in prisons.
