A Mumbai Court on Monday remanded a foreign national to judicial custody in the cruise ship drug case in which Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is the prime accused. .The new accused, Okaro Uzeoma, a Nigerian National, is the second foreign national to be arrested in the case taking the overall tally of arrests to twenty.Uzeoma was intercepted with 14 grams of cocaine, which amounts to intermediate quantity under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act). Special Public Prosecutor Advait Sethna informed the Court that Uzeoma was arrested after a statement from Abdul Kadir, another co-accused in the case. .Sethna prayed for judicial custody of Uzeoma which was allowed by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate GP Bawaskar who remanded the accused to judicial custody till October 25, 2021. .Along with Uzeoma's remand, the Magistrate was also considering the remand applications of 6 more accused. They were Abdul Kadir, Shreyas Nair, Manish Rajgariya, Avin Sahu, Chinedu Igwe and Shivraj Ramdas. Upon NCB's request, all the accused were remanded to judicial custody. .Advocate Apoorv Srivastava for Abdul Shaikh also filed for retraction of statement. He also filed a pursis to place on record that Abdul was detained by NCB for more than 24 hours. .Counsel for Rajgariya and Sahu filed for bail on the grounds that the offences charged against them were bailable and as per Supreme Court precedents, they were entitled to bail. Sethna opposed the bail in light of the order of the Magistrate Court rejecting bail pleas filed by Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. .The Court however directed NCB to file its reply to the bail pleas and posted the bail pleas for hearing then..With this remand, there are 20 persons who have been arrested..The entire list of accused are as follows:.Aryan Khan - He is prime accused and claims that there has been no recovery of any banned substance from him;Arbaaz Merchant - Khan's friend from whom NCB supposedly recovered 6 grams of charas;Munmun Dhamecha - She was allegedly found with a packet of 5 grams of a substance looking like hash;Mohak Jaswal and Vikrant Chhoker - They were the first to be charged under the offence of Section 27A of the NDPS Act for trafficking;Gomit Chopra, Nupur Sarika and Ishmeet Singh - Accused with offences of consumption and have charges similar to that of Khan;Abdul Kadir - Alleged to be a supplier, he was found to be in possession of 54.3 grams of mephedron and 2.5 grams of ecstasy;Shreyas Nair - Along with Kadir, he was also accused of being a supplier, who was found in possession of 2 grams of charms;Manish Rajgariya - Found to be in possession of 2.4 grams of ganja; Avin Sahu - Allegedly a consumer;Gopal Anand, Samir Saigal, Manav Singhal and Bhaskar Arora - They were purportedly from the organising team of the event/ party which was supposed to take place on the cruise; Aachit Kumar - Found to be in possession of quantity of 2.6 grams of ganja, Kumar's name was taken by Khan and Merchant during their interrogation;Chinedu Igwe - The first foreign national to be arrested, Igwe was intercepted with 40 tablets (15 gm) of ecstasy; Shivraj Ramdas Harijan - Purported ganja supplier linked to Arbaaz Merchant, Harijan was arrested on October 10, 2021 after recovering of 62 grams of dark substance looking like charas;Okaro Uzeoma - The second foreign national arrested with allegedly 14 grams of cocaine.
