[Arrest of Arnab Goswami] Alibaug Court hears plea for police custody and related matters: LIVE UPDATES

The Sessions Court, Alibaug is hearing the revision application filed by the Maharashtra Police challenging an order denying them police custody over Republic TV's editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami, who was arrested in connection with the 2018 Anvay Naik suicide case last week.

At the time, the Court had remaded Goswami to judicial custody, opining that there was no prima facie case made out to detain Goswami in police custody.

Goswami has also moved a bail application before the Sessions Court. An interim bail plea moved before the Bombay High Court was rejected yesterday, with the High Court adding that Goswami was at liberty to approach the sessions court for bail.

Goswami has moved the Supreme Court challenging the High Court's denial of interim bail. This challenge has been listed for hearing tomorrow before the Supreme Court.
