The Allahabad High Court recently ordered that no coercive action should be taken against a person accused of public property damage on account of his alleged participation protests against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019.

The magistrate order under challenge had held several persons, including the petitioner, jointly and severally liable for Rs 67 lakhs worth of public property damage on account of participation in anti-CAA protests.
