All Supreme Court judges will conduct court proceedings from their respective residences on Monday and will not be coming to the Supreme Court building to hold court from behind the the glass panelled courtrooms..According to the sources, this is due to the National Informatics Centre (NIC) conducting a system overhaul. .This would be the first time in nine months that all judges of the top court would be holding court from the residences. .Information Technology and technical staff members had their respective rosters updated and were asked to report to individual judges residences to conduct video hearings, multiple sources confirmed to Bar & Bench. .According to the latest Supreme Court circular, court proceedings which were scheduled to begin at 10.30 am on Monday will commence from 11.30 am while Benches which were to start proceedings from 11 am will conduct hearings from 12 noon. .As per another circular, physical mentioning of matters have been suspended in the top court for now though mentioning via virtual medium will continue. .Supreme Court sources told Bar & Bench that physical mentioning was suspended since a non-judicial Registrar was allowed the task to head it, but lawyers complained the officer was not able to decide which cases cases to list after mentioning.
