Additional Solicitor General (ASG) of India Balbir Singh resigned from the post today after representing the Central government for over three years. .Speaking to Bar & Bench, Singh said:"Today, I have resigned from the position of the ASG after serving the Government of India for more than three years. I am thankful to the Government of India and particularly, Shri Tushar Mehta for extending this wonderful opportunity to represent and serve the Union. Interestingly, I discussed my exit with Shri Mehta somewhere in the month of June and requested him to relieve me from my duties by November, to which he gracefully agreed. I have immensely gained from this opportunity by representing the government on varied subjects and issues. I have served to the best of my ability and integrity.".Singh had resigned as a Senior Partner at DSK Legal in 2015 to start counsel practice in Delhi before he was appointed as ASG. .In July this year, he was re-appointed as ASG along with Vikramjit Banerjee, KM Nataraj, SV Raju, N Venkataraman and Aishwarya Bhati.
