A Ramanagara District Court issues Non Bailable Warrant against self proclaimed Godman Nithyananda

A Trial Court in Ramanagara has issued a Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) today against the self-styled Godman Nithyananda and further stated that the personal bond executed by him stands "forfeited". (Bidadi Police V. Paramahamsa Nithyanandaswamy @ Rajashekaran).In this regard, the order passed by III Additional District and Sessions Judge reads, .That the personal bond executed by accused No.1 is hereby forfeited and office to issue NBW as against accused No.1 besides registering a separate case for recovery of personal bond amount as against A1. In the meanwhile, post this matter on regular date i.e., on 04.03.2020.Ramanagara Court order.The Karnataka CID had moved an application before Ramanagara Trial Court in the wake of the order passed by the High Court which cancelled Nithyananda's bail earlier this month. The CID had further prayed to issue NBW against Nithyananda so as to procure him before the trial court. It is reported that Nithyananda is suspected to have fled the country dodging the security agencies of the country.The case has been posted next in the lower Court on March 4. .The Karnataka High Court recently had cancelled the bail granted to self-styled Godman Nithyananda. Consequently, the Court had directed that Nithyananda be taken into custody and to take steps to enforce the security bonds in accordance with law..Justice John Michael Cunha had earlier reserved orders on a plea filed to cancel Nithyananda's bail filed by former aide, Lenin Karuppan in a rape case pending against the Godman since 2010..Karuppan had urged for the cancellation of the bail granted to Nithyananda for skipping trial, fleeing the country on an expired passport, and making false representations in his exemption petitions to the trial court..Earlier this week, the Karnataka High Court had dismissed a petition that sought for the transfer of the rape case against self-proclaimed Godman Nithyananda Swami from Ramanagara District Court to Bangalore..[Read the order here]
