The Delhi High Court today sought an update from Delhi Police with respect to the whereabouts of a person who participated in the farmers' tractor rally of January 26 and has been missing since then. (Baljeet vs GNCTD).A Division Bench of Justices Siddharth Mridul and Anup J Bhambhani was hearing the Habeas Corpus petition preferred by the cousin brother of the missing person. .As per the petitioner, after his brother did not return from the tractor rally, he tried searching for his brother in the neighbouring areas and contacted all known persons but his whereabouts remained unknown. .In his petition before the Court, the petitioner claimed that he approached the Delhi Police several times for registering a "missing person" complaint..However, to the complete shock of the petitioner, the Delhi Police refused to register any missing complaint or take any action, it added..The brother of the petitioner is said to be aged about 27 years and has no criminal record..The petition was filed through Advocate Soayib Qureshi.
