Central government proposes total ban on cow slaughter, beef products in Lakshadweep with punishment of life imprisonment for violation

The Central government is proposing to introduce a complete ban on slaughter of cow, calf, bull and bullock in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep with a maximum punishment of life imprisonment for violation of the law.
