The Central government on Monday issued a notification for transfer of Justice Anu Sivaraman from Kerala High Court to the Karnataka High Court. .Justice Sivaraman had sought a transfer out of the State of Kerala on October 16, 2023. The Supreme Court Collegium last month accepted her request and recommended her transfer to the Karnataka High Court. The Central government has now cleared the same.In a notification issued today, the Department of Justice said,"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Smt. Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge, High Court of Kerala, as a Judge of Karnataka High Court and to direct her to assume charge of her office in the Karnataka High Court.".Justice Sivaraman enrolled as an advocate on March 3, 1991. She subsequently served as Standing Counsel for the Corporation of Cochin from 2001 to 2010 and later as a Senior Government Pleader from January 2007. Additionally, she held the position of Special Government Pleader (Cooperation) during 2010-2011.She was sworn in as an additional judge of the Kerala High Court on April 10, 2015, and later appointed as a permanent judge on April 4, 2017..[Read Notification]
