In an unprecedented development, the Kerala High Court collegium has sent to the Supreme Court Collegium two separate lists of judicial officers recommended for elevation as High Court judges..The development came about due to a difference in opinion between the members of the Collegium, The Hindu reported.The High Court collegium is comprised of the three senior most judges of the Court including the Chief Justice. The collegium that forwarded the two lists was comprises Chief Justice S Manikumar, and Justices SV Bhatti and K Vinod Chandran. Justice Vinod Chandran was recently transferred and appointed as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. As per the report in The Hindu, Chief Justice Manikumar and Justice Bhatti concurred on the names of seven judicial officers and sent a list accordingly. However, Justice Chandran sent a different list and also marked his dissent on one judicial officer in the other list recommended by the other two judges.
