He was recruited as a District and Sessions Judge in 1998 and served as Additional District and Sessions Judge at Bangalore and Shimoga and as Principal District and Sessions Judge at Udupi, Haveri and Belgaum.He was also Secretary to the Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka, and Principal Secretary to Karnataka government's law department. He was appointed as an additional judge of the Karnataka High Court in October 2013 and was made a permanent judge in March 2016. He retired in May 2020.
