The Karnataka High Court recently urged a married couple seeking divorce to resolve their differences by consulting a spiritual guru.

The Bench of Justice Krishna S Dixit and Justice Vijay Kumar Patil observed that both parties are well-educated, and their interaction with the Court confirmed they come from respectable cultural backgrounds.

It was noted that the couple also acknowledged that ups and downs are inevitable in any marriage.

"They happily agreed with the suggestion of this Court that they should seek some blessings & guidance from a tall person. Together, they have rightly chosen His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji of Shri Gavisiddeshwara Mutt, Koppal," the Court said in its order.

The man had approached the High Court challenging a trial court order that dismissed his divorce petition and allowed his wife's plea for the restitution of conjugal rights under the Hindu Marriage Act.

The Court observed that it was a positive development in the courtroom when the couple agreed to meet the spiritual guru to seek his advice and blessings.

"In the above circumstances, we pray His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji to bless t Holiness on 22.09.2024, after ascertaining his availability & convenience. Registry to send a copy of this order to His Holiness Shri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji of Shri G both the parties," the Court noted.
