Chief Justice of India, Justice JS Khehar has responded to the letter written by wife of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul, seeking investigation into the suicide note left by her husband..The Indian Express reports that the CJI passed an order on the administrative side and directed the Registry to have the order served on her in sealed envelope..“…the CJI, on the administrative side, had on Tuesday evening passed an order on Dangwimsai’s plea for lodging of an FIR. Justice Khehar has also directed the registry to have this order served on her in a sealed-cover envelope”, the report states..The report states that the order by CJI is likely to be delivered to Pul’s wife, Dangwimsai Pul today..The report further states that the contents of the order could not be known..Kalikho Pul had purportedly written a 60-page suicide note titled “Mere Vichar”. The note had created quite a stir since it names four judges of Supreme Court for having allegedly taken/ demanded bribes. Two of them are sitting judges..The letter is replete with allegations of “bika hua” court and judges and is especially critical of the judgment delivered by a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on July 13 last year. By way of that judgment, the Court had quashed the Governor’s decision of advancing the Assembly session in Arunachal Pradesh. This judgment led to the exit of Pul from the Chief Minister’s chair. Pul had subsequently committed suicide..The note also strongly criticises the Congress party and certain Senior lawyers..Pul’s wife had written to the CJI demanding action on the note. The mainstream media has, however, continued to maintain stoic silence and only organisations like The Wire and The Quint have followed up the story.
