A ‘Justice Clock’ was inaugurated today at the Calcutta High Court by the Chief Justice Thottathil B Nair Radhakrishnan. The inauguration ceremony was attended by all the Judges of the Calcutta High Court..The LED display board has been installed at the entrance of Gate No. E of the Calcutta High Court. The Clock would be displaying the status of cases before the Calcutta High Court and the Subordinate Courts of West Bengal..The Clock will also display the rankings of all the High Courts as well as the District and Sub-ordinate Courts based upon their performances in disposing of the highest number of cases..At present, as per the National Judicial Data Grid, there are around 5,13,261 civil and 17,72,271 criminal cases pending in the State of West Bengal as of January 22, 2020.
