Justice Anirudhha Bose to head National Judicial Academy, Bhopal after retirement

Supreme Court judge Justice Anirudhha Bose will be heading the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal after his retirement from the top court..This was revealed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud today, the last working day of Justice Bose. "Justice Bose is retiring from the Supreme Court. The unanimous vote of judges was Justice Bose should head the National judicial academy Bhopal and he has agreed to take up the role," the CJI said while heading the ceremonial bench also comprising Justice Bose.Justice Bose is a man of many parts. He is equitable, gentle, compassionate and has the unending desire to do justice to the last person on the line, the CJI added."Yesterday he donned a suit for the dinner otherwise we are always amazed by his sartorial elegance, personal tragedies has never come in the way of his judicial work. The institution supports each other. We have become great friends and it was an honour to serve a court in which you were a judge," the CJI recounted his experience with Justice Bose..Speaking at the gathering, Justice Bose said that he was demitting the office with immense satisfaction."What I have learnt in these 5 years is more than the 60 years. Everyday I have learnt something new and due to my lack of knowledge I kept on learning. A judge can decide a matter on his own but the conflicting views present helps present an equitable solution. I demit office with a lot of satisfaction," he said. Justice Bose was born in 1959 and did his LLB from Surendranath Law College. He enrolled as a lawyer in 1985 and started his law practice before the Calcutta High Court.He was appointed as a permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court in January 2004 and was elevated as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on August 11, 2018.He was elevated to Supreme Court of India on May 24, 2019..During the sitting of the ceremonial bench, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta read out a message sent by Attorney General R Venkataramani."As everyone knows your lordship has always been in an intellectual pursuit and you have never thrown the weight of your intellect around the bar.. he defines the term of a perfect gentleman.".Senior Advocate AM Singhvi said that the grace which Justice Bose brings has a special old-world charm, particularly evident when hearing and dismissing cases."This is a hallmark of his career and I have been impressed with his diverse reading on diverse topics.
