Justice Amit Sharma of the Delhi High Court took oath as permanent judge on Monday. .Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma administered the oath to Justice Sharma today in the judge's lounge of the Delhi High Court. .The Central government had on March 3 cleared appointment of Justice Sharma as permanent judge. This came was the Supreme Court Collegium on February 15, recommended that Justice Sharma be made permanent.The resolution passed by the Supreme Court Collegium noted that the Delhi High Court Collegium had unanimously recommended on January 9 that Justice Sharma be made a permanent judge.Following this, the Supreme Court Collegium held a consultation with Supreme Court judges conversant with the affairs of the Delhi High Court.The Collegium also evaluated the material placed on record including the observations made by the Union Law Ministry's Department of Justice as well as the report of the Judgment Evaluation Committee constituted in terms of the October 2017 resolution of the Supreme Court Collegium.
