Justice Amit Sharma of Delhi High Court on Thursday recused from hearing bail pleas related to the 2020 Delhi riots..The Bench, which was headed by Justice Prathiba M Singh, ordered that the matters be listed before a bench of which Justice Sharma is not a member.."Let these matters be listed before the bench of which one of us (Justic Amit Sharma) is not a member, subject to orders of Hon’ble the Acting Chief Justice," the Court order said..The bail matters include the pleas filed by Sharjeel Imam, Meeran Haider and others..This is the third Division Bench which has released the matters. Initially, Justices Siddharth Mridul and Rajnish Bhatnagar were presiding over the cases. After Justice Mridul was transferred to Manipur High Court, the case was assigned to Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Manoj Jain. With the recent roster change, the case was assigned to Justices Prathiba M Singh and Amit Sharma.With Justice Sharma recusing today the matter will now go before a fourth bench.
