Replacing him at Chhattisgarh is Justice Deepak Kumar, who was formerly Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court..Justice T Vaiphei, who was transferred from the Gauhati High Court to the Tripura High Court, will take over as Acting Chief Justice in Justice Kumar’s stead..The transfer of the Delhi High Court’s Justice VP Vaish was confirmed; he has been shifted to the Meghalaya High Court. The other transfers are those of Justice SK Agnihotri from the Madras High Court to the Sikkim High Court, Justice Prashant Kumar from Jharkhand to Allahabad, and Justice Sudip Ahluwalia from the Calcutta High Court to the Punjab & Haryana High Court..And speaking of the Calcutta High Court, the Presidency Court’s strength has been increased from 58 to 72..As a result of the recent elevation of three judges to the Supreme Court, the high courts of Allahabad, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh are now headed by Acting Chief Justices VK Shukla, TBN Radhakrishnan and Rajendra Menon respectively..The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad saw the elevation of district court judge GS Prasad as a permanent judge..Five additional judges in two high courts have been made permanent.
