The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has promoted 22 civil judges on the basis of their seniority.
By an order issued by the office of the High Court's Registrar General, it is informed that 22 civil judges (Junior Division) /Munsiffs have been promoted as civil judges (Senior Division) /Sub-Judges considering the comparative seniority and vigilance report of the judicial officers falling in the consideration zone.
The judges who have been promoted are:

Phuntsog Angmo,
Riyaz Ahmad,
Tabassum Qadir Parray,
Meyank Gupta,
Sajad ur Rehman,
Altaf Hussain Khan,
Rekha Kapoor,
Pooja Raina,
Pooja Gupta,
Fariqa Nazir,
Deputy Kumar,
Abdul Bari,
Ajay Kumar,
Siahuddin Ahmed,
Nusrat Ali,
Sunil Kumar,
Smriti Sharma,
Sumati Sharma,
Mudassir Farooq,
Muzammil Ahmad Wani, and
Rajeev Kumar
The adhoc promotions shall be for a period of six months or till the regular promotion is made, reads the order.
It also reads that the adhoc promotions shall not confer any right of regular promotion or any claim of seniority or any other superior right viz-a-viz those who may be promoted on regular basis.
Further the adhoc promotees shall be reverted to the cadre of Civil Judges (Junior Division) /Munsiff if they are not found fit in the regular promotion process to the post of Civil Judges (Senior Division)/ Sub-Judges or in case sufficient posts are not available for their promotion on a regular basis.
The formal posting orders will be issued after the posting of the newly selected Civil Judges (Junior Division)/Munsiff. Till then, the officers shall continue to discharge their functions at their present places of posting, adds the order.
