The Delhi High Court today issued notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in an application moved by Arun Jaitley alleging perjury by the Delhi CM in the ongoing defamation case..The Finance Minister stated in the application that Kejriwal made false and incorrect statements under oath wherein he denied giving instructions to Senior Advocate Ram Jethmalani to use derogatory and objectionable language during the cross-examination..Jethmalani had called Jaitley “a crook” in court after which the latter filed another defamation case against Kejriwal aggravating the charges. Jethmalani had stated before the Court that he had the consent of his client for making such statements, while Kejriwal submitted that he gave no such instructions to the nonagenarian lawyer..Post the controversy, Jethmalani and Kejriwal had a falling out and the ace lawyer stated that he would not represent the Delhi CM in the future.
