Tamil Nadu law minister, CV Shanmugam on Friday announced that the government would procure Apple iPad Pros for judges of the Principal and Madurai Benches of the Madras High Court, reports The Hindu..It is reported that a sum of Rs 80.3 lakhs would be sanctioned to cover the cost of the iPads for 60 judges, including the cost of the stylus and the cover..The Law Minister also announced that the Government would provide young lawyers a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 for two years..In his address, Shanmugham also detailed welfare measures concerning lower courts, including renovations for certain heritage buildings in Tiruvannmalai and Coimbatore districts, and the constitution of new courts in Nammakal, Dharampuri, Ranipet, Kallakurichi, Dindigul, Pudukottai and Tiruvallur districts.
