The International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC), Hyderabad has announced the conduct of the first India-MENA Arbitration Summit on February 17-18, 2024 in Hyderabad.
The comprehensive two-day event is slated to bring together legal luminaries from India and the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region, and will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on a wide range of topics spanning across arbitration, mediation, and innovative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The event is being organised by the IAMC in collaboration with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, M&CO Legal, 39 Essex Chambers, and Osborne Partners. Further support for the summit comes from the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the Abu Dhabi Global Market.
Inaugural session
The summit's opening day will feature an inaugural address by several dignitaries, including Justice Hima Kohli, Judge of the Supreme Court of India; Justice Alok Aradhe, Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court; Justice L Nageswara Rao, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India; Justice RV Raveendran, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Jehad Kazim, Executive Director, DIAC.
Session by M&CO Legal - Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in India and MENA Region:
M&CO Legal will lead discussions on the enforcement of arbitral awards in India and the MENA region, featuring prominent speakers that include Dr. Mahmood Hussain, founding partner, M&CO Legal; Justice L Nageswara Rao, former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Satvik Verma, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Advocate Anirudh Krishnan, founding partner, AK Law Chambers.

The first day will conclude with a session by Osborne Partners on the challenges faced in cross-border M&A transactions in the MENA region. The Dubai International Arbitration Centre's Session on Enforcing Justice: DIAC as the pinnacle for Indian Arbitrations in MENA:
Day two will feature a session by the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) on its role as the pinnacle for Indian arbitrations in the MENA region. The panelists will be Jehad Kazim, Executive Director, DIAC; Bushra Ahmed, Partner, KBH, Dubai; Hari Krishna, CEO, Nimble Legal and Shreyas Jayasimha, Co-Founding Partner, Aarna Law & Simha Law. The session will be moderated by DK Singh, Managing Partner, KBH, Dubai.
Closing Session by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. on India-UAE Bilateral Investment Treaty:
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. will conclude the summit with a session on the opportunities and challenges in the India-UAE Bilateral Investment Treaties.
