The third edition of the IDIA Football League was held in Mumbai on October 15 and 16. Mahindra & Mahindra emerged winners in the Cup Championship, while Wadia Ghandy took home the Plate Championship..Teams in the league competed for one of two championships. The top two teams from each group in the league stages vied for the “IFL Cup Championship” while the rest of the teams fought for the “IFL Plate Championship”..In all, eighteen teams participated in the tournament; a majority of them being law firms such as AZB & Partners, Bharucha & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Desai & Diwanji, ELP, JSA, Khaitan & Co, Shardul Amarchand and Trilegal, among others..ELP won the IFL 2016 Fair Play Award, while the team from Vahura was the Most Diverse Team. Trilegal’s Mohit Rohatgi was the Highest Goal Scorer, while Mahindra’s Jerson Fernandes was adjudged Best Goalkeeper..The Best Senior Player award went to Khaitan & Co Partner Rabindra Jhunjhunwala, while Khaitan’s Abhilasha Mondal and Vahura’s Nandini Ghosh jointly won the Best Female Player award..The event was also marked by the IDIA Awards Night, which was held on October 15 at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana on Marine Drive, with Harsha Bhogle invited as Chief Guest.
