IB reports should be made public, then people will know why judges have been transferred: Meenakshi Lekhi in Lok Sabha

BJP Member of Parliament and lawyer Meenakshi Lekhi today said in the Lok Sabha that Intelligence Bureau (IB) reports associated with judges’ transfers should be made public so that people know the reasons for the transfer..Lekhi made the statement while speaking about the recent Delhi Riots. While doing so, she segued into a speech about judges' transfers..“Aur kuch judges, jinke main naam nahi loongi, lekin judges kuch ka manna hain ki jab tak dharna himsaatmak na ho, tab tak police kaarwayee nahi karegi. Ab dharna kab himsaatmak hoga yeh baitke kaun tay karega?Aur jin judges ke inhone naam liye hain, inko bahut experience hain, judges ke appointment se le kar baaki cheezen likhwane ka, isliye ye jaante hain kya kya hota hai. Ye nahi pata ke bina recommendation sarkar transfer nahin karta, aur transfer toh pehle se hi ho chuka tha. Main tho kahungi ek din ki IB ke jo reports hain na kuch logon ke baarein mein, unko public kar dena chahiye, sabko samajh aayega.”[“Some judges, whose name I will not take, have said that as long as protests are non-violent, there will be no investigation. Who will decide when protests become violent?The people who are talking about these judges, they have a lot of experience in writing about appointment of judges, that is why they know so much about what happens. They don’t know that without recommendation, the government does not transfer (judges). The transfer had happened earlier. I want to say that one day, the IB reports on judges should be made public, then people will understand why judges have been transferred.”]
