The Himachal Pradesh government has dismissed a judicial officer from service on the recommendations of the Himachal Pradesh High Court after an enquiry by the High Court found him guilty of corruption..The Governor of Himachal Pradesh passed the order dismissing Civil Judge cum Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Gaurav Sharma who stood accused of taking a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from a local resident.Sharma, the ACJM of Sundernagar in Mandi district had earlier been suspended from service pending enquiry by the High Court. .The inquiry report revealed that two cases pertaining to cheque bounce under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act were pending in Sharma's Court when he was posted as ACJM Sundernagar in the year 2017..Sharma called a person into his chamber and demanded money for settlement of cases. The person later lodged a complaint with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, the report mentioned. .According to the notification issued by the Principal Secretary (Home) to the Government of Himahal Pradesh on November 25, all charges against Sharma were proved in the inquiry conducted by the High Court in 2017.."Now, therefore, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh having considered the recommendations of the High Court and in exercise of the powers vested in him under Clause (ix) of Rule 11 of the CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, thereby orders dismissal of Sh.
