Applications have been invited from the members of the High Court of Delhi Bar Association, for empanelment on the legal aid panels of the High Court of Delhi (Middle Income Group) Legal Aid Society. .High Court of Delhi (Middle Income Group) Legal Aid Society is a Society formed to provide legal aid to Middle Income Group in relation to the legal issues pertaining to the litigation in the Delhi High Court. The Middle Income Group is defined as comprising of persons having an annual income between Rs 60,000/- to Rs 7,00,000/-..The Society has been registered under the Societies Registration Act. It is an autonomous body and is currently presided by Justice GS Sistani .Panels: The Panels for which eligible lawyers may apply include those dealing with criminal, general civil laws, family/matrimonial laws and service/labour laws. There will be two age group panels for each category of the aforesaid panels. (i) 3-10 years and (ii) 10 years and above experience. Each panel is to comprise of 30 advocates..Eligibility: Advocates who are members of the DHCBA with at least 3 years experience are eligible to apply. An applicant can apply for empanelment only in 1 panel. .Process of empanelment: Shortlisted applicants will be called for a brief interaction with the Selection Panel of the Society, to assess the general suitability of the applicants. Selection Panel(s) will comprise of members of the Executive Council of the Society. Only such eligible applicants who are found suitable by the selection panel will be empanelled. The decision·of the Selection Panel will be final. .Term of empanelment and Fee: Empanelment shall be for a period of 3 (three) years. Empanelled advocates shall be paid fee for their servicesas per the fee schedule and rules of the Society. .Last date of application: The last date of submission of the application form is November 15, 2019.
