A Gujarat man who impersonated himself as an official of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) was remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by a Srinagar court. .The order was passed by the 1st Additional Munsiff, Srinagar after a hearing held through video conference. The accused Kiran Patel was was arrested from a five-star hotel for posing as an additional secretary with the Government of India..Fake visiting cards and two mobiles were seized from the accused, a senior police official told Bar & Bench.He has been booked for offences under Sections 419 (Punishment for cheating), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (Forgery of valuable security, will etc), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (Using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).Sources further said that Patel travelled to many tourist places on 'Z plus' security during his visit and stay in Kashmir. He even visited a place close to the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir's Uri in Baramullah district..Patel has also filed an application for seeking bail which is pending before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar.
